The Italian author Italo Calvino wrote, ‘You take delight not in a city’s seven or seventy wonders but in the answer it gives to a question of yours.’ We wholeheartedly concur, taking deep pleasure in journeys of all kinds and in the discoveries they bring.

So we are honoured to host a travel-themed conversation at Aesop Pavilion with Kerol Izwan, Editor-in-chief of Musotrees, an independent bi-annual magazine that collects musings and mobile photography from fellow wanderers. You are warmly invited to join us for what promises to be an inspiring dialogue, with light refreshments on the side.

A Kuala Lumpur-based biologist by day, Kerol is also an avid wanderer, photographer and storyteller who has left footprints in more than thirty countries; he founded Musotrees in May 2015 with three like-minded friends. Available in more than 20 countries, it is devoured by readers eager to learn of the beguiling places, delicious food and amusing anecdotes that grace its pages.

On this occasion, Kerol will share his philosophy on travel as well as stories about journeys featured in the latest edition of Musotrees, which is focused on the sensory experiences its contributors have enjoyed. We hope this dialogue will inspire many questions and leave you with an urge to embark on adventures of your own.
