Village by BOA, Porto, Portugal – A Design Hideaway in the City

Walking to Village by BOA felt like stumbling upon a hidden gem nestled within the bustling city of Porto. Located in the historic neighbourhood of Bairro do Silva, this enclave of 40 accommodations pays tribute to 19th-century memories. Amidst train stations and modern facades, who would have thought you'd find a secluded "island" transformed into an oasis of comfort and design?

The property comprises five meticulously restored buildings, once part of a working-class housing complex. The restoration honours the original architecture while introducing modern comforts, creating a seamless blend of past and present.

Each of the 40 serviced apartments is designed with a minimalist aesthetic, featuring natural materials and a calming palette of earth tones. The interiors evoke a sense of nostalgia, with pastel colours ranging from nudes to earthy hues, promoting a serene ambiance. Natural elements such as wood, linen, and rope infuse the space with classic Portuguese style, harmonizing with Japandi-inspired minimalism.

The room I stayed in was exceptionally comfortable, complete with a fully equipped kitchen and a long balcony overlooking Porto’s skyline and golden sunsets. The space was thoughtfully arranged, offering a sense of tranquility amidst the city's bustle.

Village by BOA seamlessly blends a sense of comfort with a clean, elaborate design that marries the charm of the past with modern style. The neighbourhood used to be a working-class housing complex, distinct from the styles of other industrial cities.

What sets Village by BOA apart is its commitment to preserving the cultural essence of Porto. The property's location offers easy access to local landmarks such as Mercado do Bolhão and the Chapel of Souls, inviting guests to explore the city's rich heritage. Yet, within the walls of Village by BOA, there's a sense of retreat—a place to pause and reflect.

This balance of immersion and respite makes Village by BOA more than just a place to stay; it's a space that encourages a deeper connection with the city. Whether you're sipping coffee in the courtyard or wandering through nearby streets, there's a feeling of being part of something enduring.
