A Social Reset in Penang: WO Studios x M Social

A day to disconnect, reset, and return to what matters.

On 26 July 2025, M Social Resort Penang will shift from a resort stay to a space for slow healing, purposeful movement, and reconnection—with the launch of A Social Reset, a one-day retreat co-curated with WO Studios.

From sunrise to sundown, the Y2K-inspired wellness experience invites guests to unplug from the demands of digital life and gently return to their bodies, breath, and presence. Taking place across the resort’s thoughtfully designed grounds in Tanjung Bungah, A Social Reset promises a fluid blend of Pilates, sound healing, and Penang’s first guided ice plunge—all framed by the spirit of community.

“M Social Resort Penang is more than just a place to stay. It’s a sensory escape, a space to reset and recharge,” said General Manager Jasmine Keh.

As Penang’s pioneer Pilates studio, WO Studios brings a grounded approach to movement, offering both mat and reformer-based sessions throughout the day. Participants can take part in sessions that build core strength and flexibility, or try their luck with a custom gashapon machine that rewards those who complete their flow.

Sound healing, led by the Heal and Find Yourself Sound Healing Academy, invites participants to lie back and surrender to meditative frequencies—an immersive inner journey with Tibetan bowls and therapeutic vibrations. Later in the day, guests can opt in for the guided ice plunge session led by certified breathwork coach Piyachai Teo, designed to restore the nervous system and encourage clarity, courage, and calm.

“This retreat is a meaningful extension of our mission—to empower through movement, in a safe and supportive space,” said Debby Wong, Founder of WO Studios.

Two main experiences are available: the Sun-Kissed Reset in the morning and the Golden Hour Reset in the evening, both priced at RM99. Each includes access to the sessions, refreshments prepared by the resort’s culinary team, and gifts throughout the day.

For those journeying from out of town, M Social Resort Penang is also offering a Getaway Package from RM360 per night. The stay includes breakfast for two at Beast & Butterflies and special access to the retreat’s perks, inviting guests to make a full weekend of it.
