The Story.
Located in the village of Kedawang, Langkawi, Sal’s Estate is where you can immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind “kampung” (village) life experience. You can savour views of the countryside while lodging at our furnished accommodation, in houses painted blue to match the clear Langkawi sky.
The property’s secluded location provides you with an idyllic local ambience, surrounded by abundant greenery and traditional kampung elements.
From Sal’s Estate, you can also enjoy the sights of the magnificent Gunung Machincang (locally known as Gunung Mat Cincang) and Gunung Raya, as well as the green pastures that are the paddy fields.
Sal’s Estate is the ideal sanctuary for city dwellers looking for a home away from home.
Accommodation.
Sal’s Estate is made up of three main properties, each divided into two houses. Each house accommodates up to five people at a time, in its master bedroom with a queen bed and a second room with twin beds, both with en suite bathrooms. The houses are also equipped with a basic kitchen, where you can cook meals and enjoy them together in the accompanying dining area.
The living hall is furnished with a comfortable couch and television, and attached to a patio, from which you could admire the breathtaking views beyond it, making indoor and outdoor living seamless. You can lounge either in the hall or the patio – perfect spots to enjoy breakfast or tea time, taking in the cool island breeze.
During the day, the main spaces of the house are bathed in natural light, which pours abundantly through an open courtyard in the middle of the structure. The courtyard can also be accessed from the master bedroom.
The views from the second room are nothing short of spectacular. The full view of the landscape just outside your window – coconut trees and shrubs framing the sight of buffaloes sowing the vast paddy fields, or the flock of storks peppering the clear blue sky – is truly a feast for the eyes. Start your day watching the sunrise and end it right with the ochre hue of the dusk sun washing over you before night falls.
Each house is also equipped with an outdoor pool, where you can take a dip to cool down when you don’t feel like going anywhere. You may also enjoy meals or read a book at the wooden tables by the side of the pool.
Location.
Sal’s Estate is ten minutes away by car from Cenang Beach, the historical town of Padang Matsirat and the Langkawi International Airport. You can easily access the major attractions in Langkawi, like the town of Kuah, the Skybridge or Geoforest Park, from your accommodation.
Take a Grab from the front steps of your accommodation, or rent a car or bike, which you can park in our spacious yard.
You may also explore on foot and stop by roadside food stalls or restaurants to fill up on local delicacies. Worry not if you need to stock up as a grocery store is available on the main road, a stone’s throw away from the accommodation.
