Hotel das Amoreiras, Lisbon, Portugal – A Boutique Retreat in Jardim das Amoreiras

Tucked away in the charming Amoreiras neighbourhood, Hotel das Amoreiras is a quiet gem nestled across from a lovely garden square. This tranquil area is a true escape, far from the busy tourist spots, yet conveniently close to a metro station. In fact, from my room, I could watch the classic yellow tram pass by, adding a nostalgic Lisbon touch to my stay. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the city at a more relaxed pace.
This 17-room hotel is the vision of Pedro Oliveira and his wife, Alicia Valero. Their passion for hospitality and design is felt throughout the property, a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The moment you step into the lobby, you’re enveloped by its carefully curated atmosphere—green velvet sofas and soft lighting create a cozy yet sophisticated vibe, with bohemian chic undertones, but never overdone. It’s a space that invites you to pause and relax, just as if you were at home.
Breakfast was served in the charming courtyard, a peaceful oasis where the city’s sounds fade, and you can truly enjoy the moment. My room, designed for comfort, was perfect for a solo traveller. It was spacious enough, and the bathroom was a standout—flooded with natural sunlight from the large window, making it feel even more inviting.
Pedro’s attention to detail in the hotel’s interior design shines through, from the calming green tones to the use of local marble. The result is a serene, modern space with touches of traditional Portuguese craftsmanship, creating a perfect blend of contemporary elegance and local heritage.
Whether you're here for a few days or a longer stay, Hotel das Amoreiras offers a retreat that feels personal and genuine. Its prime location, with easy access to the metro and Lisbon’s best sights, combined with its intimate, boutique charm, makes it a wonderful base to explore this vibrant city.
